Virtual reality can be described as immersive multimedia or computer-simulated reality. It simulates a physical presence in places in the real or imagined world. Users then interact with that world. Ottawa Valley Power Play is the premiere virtual reality arcade in the Renfrew County region.

The Vive is a specific brand of head-mounted display (HMD), controllers, and tracking peripherals. The Vive allows users to see and interact with the virtual environment. Each tracker reads Infrared lasers and LEDs. This provides highly-accurate tracking capabilities to give you 1:1 control of your character in the game. The Vive Pro is a more advanced unit than the commercial Vive, offering improved resolution and motion eye-tracking.

We have VR titles to suit your every need.  Our extensive catalogue is regularly reviewed and updated with input from our patrons and Club Members.

• Ottawa Valley Power Play offers a respectful and mindful environment. We ask that everyone on-site take care of each other, the facility and equipment.
• Patrons are at least 8 years of age.  Children under 13 years old are accompanied and supervised by an adult.
• Patrons understand and sign our waiver.  A parent or guardian signature is required for players under 18 years of age.
• Please remove your shoes inside the VR stations and game rooms.

Virtual Reality is an immersive and stimulating experience. Age recommendations vary from one VR headset to another. We advise users to be at least 8 years old in order to safely wear and use the equipment.

All of our guests under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Any guest under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver on their behalf.

Absolutely! You will need 2 or more stations to access multiplayer options. These options allow you and your friends to enjoy the virtual reality together.

Only one person can use a station at a time, although two people can share one hour of game time with consecutive turns using the station. For an on-site multi-player experience with your friends, we recommend booking one station each.  Larger parties can rent our venue for special events and tournaments.

The optimal VR experience requires users to move the head and neck, and to have the use of at least one hand to interact with the environment.  At Ottawa Valley Power Play, we can accommodate most skill, mobility and cognitive levels for a range of guests.  We also recommend a chaperone or spotter for new patrons or for those unsure of their ability to use the equipment. Be sure to consult your doctor before visiting Ottawa Valley Power Play if you have pre-existing medical conditions such as a heart ailment, conditions that affect your ability to safely perform physical activities, psychiatric conditions such as anxiety or post-traumatic stress, or if you are pregnant or elderly. You should avoid visiting Ottawa Valley Power Play if you are sick, fatigued, under the influence of intoxicants, or you are not feeling generally well, as it may exacerbate your condition. We are able to accommodate certified service animals.

As with any motion-related entertainment, some people may be susceptible to unexpected side-effects during the VR session.  Should you feel uneasy at any point, we ask that you stop the VR session and inform an OV Power Play staff member promptly. We will recommend an experience that is less likely to cause problems. Your experience and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.  Free demonstrations are available for anyone concerned about their reaction to the VR gaming experience.
